What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness whereby deep-rooted habits and psychological disturbances may be accessed and an inner will of strength and resources utilised to create new beliefs.
I don't think I can be Hypnotised
There are several levels of hypnosis but for the most, conditions only require a very light trance (similar to day dreaming) and is easily achieved by 95% of the population. For the remaining 5% more practice may be required or maybe just a change of location or perhaps hypnotist could be the answer.
What are the sorts of problems that Hypnotherapy can help with?
Asthma, Anorexia, BedWetting, Bereavement, Blushing, Confidence, Habits (Smoking/Drugs/Nail Biting) Motivation, Phobias, Sexual Problems, Stammering, Stress, Weight Loss.
Can you make me do something under Hypnosis that I don't really want to do?
Fact - You cannot make anyone do anything under Hypnosis that they would not normally do, you will also remember everything that has happened during the Hypnotherapy Session.
How long are the sessions and how many will I need?
Sessions are usually one hour, with the first 20 minutes being used to get to know you and understand your problem, the Hypnotherapy session will be about 30-35 minutes, with the final 5-10 minutes to talk about the session and the way forward.
One session is often enough. You may need a top-up in a few weeks or months. There are certain things like Weight loss that may have to be addressed with two sessions, this is because it is usually a two sided problem and an on-going process "the need to feel good" and "the need to eat less".
Will it always work?
If you really want it to work then the chance of success is very high indeed.
